Community guidelines

Here exists to help people who are already in the same room meet each other. These are the rules of that room. They are part of the terms of service — breaking them is breaking the terms.

Zero tolerance

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Here. An account that posts it, or directs it at someone, is removed. We do not warn first, we do not grade it, and we do not reinstate on appeal where the conduct is clear.

What is not allowed

• Pretending to be someone else. Photos must be of you. A profile that is not the person standing behind it is the one thing that makes a room unsafe rather than merely unpleasant.
• Harassment, hate, threats. Including anything aimed at who someone is rather than what they did.
• Sexual content nobody asked for. In a photo, in a bio, or in a first message.
• Continuing a conversation that ended. A pass, an unmatched chat, or a block is an answer. Do not use the venue to get around it.
• Anything involving minors. No one under 18 may use Here, and no content sexualizing minors is permitted in any form. See our child safety standards.
• Commercial use. No advertising, solicitation, or sex work.
• Scraping, automation, or tracking. Do not try to locate anyone through Here beyond what the app shows you.

How we enforce this

• Every profile photo and display name is checked by automated moderation before anyone else sees it. While something is being checked you are not shown to people at your venue, and the app tells you which of your things it is — replacing it clears the check, and so does a clean re-scan or a review by our team.
• Anyone can be reported from their card in the venue, from an open chat, or from an ended one. Reports are reviewed by people, normally within 24 hours. The person you report is never told.
• Anyone can be blocked. A block is immediate and works in both directions: neither of you is shown to the other again, and any chat you share ends. Blocks are listed in the app under Safety, and can be undone there.
• A reported profile leaves your venue immediately, before anyone has reviewed anything.
• Suspected minors are escalated at once and the profile is hidden while we look.
• Records of reports and blocks survive account deletion. Deleting and re-registering does not undo a block or clear a ban.

If something happens

Report it in the app — that is the fastest route, because it carries the context with it. If you cannot, or if it is urgent, write to support@ihere.ca. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number; the app has a shortcut to 911 under Safety.
