YOUR ACCOUNT
Delete your Here account
Two ways: in the app, or by email if you've already removed the app.
In the app — the fast way
- Open Here and tap You in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Close your account.
- Read what stays and what goes, then confirm.
Deletion starts immediately and completes within 30 days.
Without the app
If you've deleted the app, email support@ihere.ca with the phone number you signed in with. Before deleting anything we'll verify the number is yours, so nobody can delete your account but you. Email requests are held for seven days in case you change your mind, then deleted — completed within 30 days either way.
What gets deleted
- Your profile and your photos.
- Your presence and venue history.
- Your matches. Conversations end; the other person can still see the closed conversation — including your first name and photo on it — until it expires on its own schedule (about 30 days after each message was sent).
- Your push token and sign-in data.
What we keep, and why
- Reports and blocks involving your account. These are safety records: they're what keeps two people apart after one of them asked for that. They're never visible to other users.
- Moderation records, where we need or are required to keep them — the report record itself (who reported whom, the category, any note), kept about 90 days; our own enforcement and audit records, kept as long as we need them; and records we must retain by law.
- A banned account's phone number. If an account was banned, we keep its number so the ban can't be dodged by re-registering — a banned number can't open a new account.
Closing your account can't be undone. Signing in later with the same phone number starts a new account from scratch — nothing comes back.
