STANDARDS AGAINST CSAE

Child safety standards

Here has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. No content or behaviour that sexualizes or endangers minors is permitted on the service, in any form, and we act on it when we find it.

Adults only

Automated scanning

Every profile photo is scanned when it's uploaded, using automated moderation (Google Cloud Vision). A photo the scan flags hides the account until the flag is resolved — by our team, or by a clean follow-up scan. CSAM identified through scanning, reports, or review is escalated to our team; confirmed material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where required, to Canadian authorities, and the account is terminated.

In-app reporting

Anyone can report a profile or a conversation from inside the app — reporting is on every profile card and in every conversation, and the Safety tab is always in the bottom bar. Reports are reviewed by people, and reports involving a possible minor are prioritized. A report permanently prevents the two accounts from being shown to each other again.

Child safety contact

Our designated child-safety contact is safety@ihere.ca. Use it to report a child-safety concern about Here directly, including from outside the app. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first.

Law enforcement

We cooperate with law enforcement investigations into child sexual abuse and exploitation, and we comply with applicable child-safety law, including Canada's mandatory-reporting requirements and U.S. reporting requirements where they apply. Law-enforcement requests: safety@ihere.ca.
